One-pager prepared for the City of Brooklyn Center’s Housing Commission and City Council to advocate for the retention of the City’s tenant protection ordinance. The document was designed to illustrate the effectiveness of the ordinance in stabilizing evictions, as compared to the neighboring city of Brooklyn Park. Existing research was cited to show the impact of similar policies in other cities, and that more than one year of data is needed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of the ordinance before deciding to repeal it.

Hennepin County contracted with the University of Minnesota's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA) to convene an Anti-Displacement Work Group that centered community voices and brought together diverse stakeholders to study and recommend anti-displacement strategies to help ensure the value of light rail will benefit current corridor residents, and minimize physical, cultural, and economic displacement.
